Centro de Investigação Gastronómica (Centre for Gastronomic Research) Um bar-bistro ecléctico – comidas e bebidas We regret to announce that the CIG will close at the end of February. It simply has not been financially successful, and it is time to stem the losses. I gave up first and decided to close in September, but Rui has been bravely trying to keep it going, unfortunately without being able to turn matters around. We did what we could, but that was not enough.Although the CIG will close, the building is being rented, remodelled, and will open soon as an Italian restaurant under ambitious new owners. They are planning a truly authentic Italian menu and atmosphere, which I for one am really looking forward to. I will post information to this mailing list as they make it available, and I hope that you join me in wishing the new owners the best of luck.
